Day in the Life

7 Quick Takes (83)

Click here to go to Hallie’s! Thanks so much for hosting!

1. Here I am again, writing my 7QT on Friday morning. These short weeks are messing with my mind, I swear. Did I mention I have exactly 4 months until the best day of my life? Isn’t time flying? ;) Speaking of which, I get my invitations today, made some appointments and picked up my veil! I’m rocking this whole wedding planning thing!

2. I’m hope all of you had a good New Years! I got to ring in the new year with the cutest kid (and my almost-nephew!) and Kendra!

He was not pleased.

3. I wrote my goals for 2013. Did you write yours out? I love reading goals and seeing people accomplish them throughout the year!

4. I also wrote a running for beginners post over at the fitness blog if anyone is interested!

5. Jim and I are registering for our wedding this weekend too! Does anyone have any suggestions on must-haves? Jim is more excited about getting to use the laser gun to zap everything. Not going to lie, I’m pretty excited too.

6. I can’t believe in just a little over a month we’ll own a house. This month, we have to get home insurance quotes and I already started packing the stuff I won’t need til May to move over there so my tiny apartment will have some room. Yay moving!

7.
hehe:)

Have a good weekend! And prayers for Jen and baby who were in the hospital the past few days!

  1. I wrote this about registering a while ago:

The biggest thing I’d definitely do differently would be to not feel like I had to complete an entire registry in one day! Since Andrew and I had a long-distance engagement and didn’t see each other super often, we picked just one day to go shopping and ended up overwhelmed and more then a little snippy when we felt pressured to make a complete registry at once. If I could change how we did things, I also think I would’ve chatted more beforehand about the few major things that were important to both of us, like appliances and bedding, so that we could focus our time in the store more. It definitely gave me deeper insight into our spending habits =) Seriously though, have so much fun! And the best bit of advice we got: the lady who helped us suggested we go out to dinner after our scanning session and not talk at all about wedding plans. It was exactly what we needed!

  2. Bryan and I started registering right after Christmas! It is fun, but a little stressful like Stephanie said, too. We got through 1/3 of our list (we compiled 2 lists – things we own and things we need/want and compared to the Registry suggestions the store gives) before calling it quits for the day. We were also getting to the hardest part, imo – bedding and bathroom. Let’s just say Bryan wants everything brown and blue, and if I don’t get a pink and girly bedspread, I’m going to cry for the rest of my life ;) Lord, have mercy on this marriage. Hope you two have fun and enjoy putting together the pieces for your life together!

  3. Start in the bedroom/bathroom. It kinda sets the style/tone you want, and it is very, very, by overwhelming! Take some snacks. I’m serious! And my best piece of advice is don’t get upset when he is not that into debating the pros and cons of a two slice vs four slice toaster. :) . And have fun; that gun is way cool!

  4. Hahaha netflix and birds. That’s awesome. Have fun registering! My only tip is to not register for a kitchen set of pots and pans but scan them in individually. Oh, and we also did a “catholic” registry with Aquinas and More online. Good luck!
